Science - KS4

 

GCSE – Years 9, 10 and 11

All pupils will follow the Combined Science Trilogy course which leads to an award of two GCSEs at the end of year 11.

A small cohort of students will be selected to study for a GCSE in the three separate sciences, leading to three GCSEs at the end of year 11 

AQA - GCSE Biology (8461), GCSE Chemistry (8462), GCSE Physics (8463)

Pupils study topics of work in each of the three sciences. The exams are available for sitting in the June of year 11. The year 11 exams will consist of the following papers at either Higher (Grades 9-4) or Foundation (Grades 5-1) level:

Biology (topics 1-4) 1 paper                                  Biology (topics5-7) 1 paper

Chemistry (topics 1-5) 1 paper                              Chemistry (topics 6-10) 1 paper

Physics (topics1-4) 1 paper                                   Physics (topics 5-8) 1 paper

(All exams paper are 1 hour 45 minutes in length and are worth 100 marks)
